Job summary

OurCoop is seeking a compassionate funeral team member to be the first point of contact for families at the scene of bereavement, ensuring dignified care and presentation of the deceased. You will work in a supportive team, handling transfers within OurCoop vehicles and participating in standby/on-call duties.

DBS checks apply for new joiners. The role requires empathy, physical ability to lift, and a full UK manual driving licence.

Qualifications

• Compassion and empathy for bereaved families
• Ability to lift and transfer the deceased with care
• Willingness to participate in standby/on-call duties
• Full UK manual driving licence (for driving manual and automatic vehicles)

Responsibilities

• Care for the deceased, including washing, dressing and presentation with dignity and respect
• Be the first point of contact for families at the scene of bereavement and support them through the process
• Attend standby and on-call rota as part of duties
• Work with colleagues as a family unit to transfer the deceased within our Society vehicles
• Be prepared for DBS disclosure checks as part of the recruitment process
