Compassionate Funeral Care Associate (Night Shifts)

Job summary

Central England Co-op is seeking a dedicated funeral care professional for a permanent night shift. You will be the families’ first contact at the scene, delivering compassionate care and coordinating with colleagues to uphold the highest professional standards.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and presenting the deceased with dignity, including washing and dressing, and you will work within our funeral team on a night rota from 7.54pm to 8.00am (4 nights on, 4 off) with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to lift and transfer the deceased person.
• Full UK Manual driving licence (valid for driving manual/automatic).
• Willingness to participate in Standby and On-Call rota.

Responsibilities

• Attend scenes with families and act as first point of contact.
• Care for the deceased with dignity, including washing and dressing.
• Prepare and present the deceased to highest standards.
• Work as part of the funeral team during night shifts (7.54pm–8.00am).
• Assist with transfers in Society vehicles and on-call duties.
