Job summary

Focal Systems is seeking a Field Service Team Lead to oversee overnight installations for customers across the UK. You will lead, coordinate, and support a team of Field Service Technicians, ensuring installations meet plan, quality, and safety standards.

The role is a fixed-term 6-month contract, 30 hours per week, with UK travel and a valid driving licence required. Night shifts and weekend work are an expected part of delivering projects on time while maintaining service SLAs.

Qualifications

• Proven Field Service Technician Experience with leadership or supervisory duties.
• Strong leadership to coordinate a small team under time pressure.
• Technical aptitude with hardware/software issue resolution.
• Proficiency with power tools and installation equipment.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Good time management to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent physical stamina for long shifts on site.
• Attention to detail to ensure quality standards.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of Field Service Technicians on site, allocating tasks and ensuring installations run to plan and schedule.
• Install camera hardware: mount, connect and configure per company standards, and oversee the team doing the same.
• Conduct pre-installation site checks and briefings to address potential issues.
• Serve as primary on-site customer contact, escalating and resolving issues to meet SLAs.
• Review and sign off on completed installations to ensure quality before handover.
• Maintain records of installation activities across the team using company tools.
• Onboarding/scanning products into the system.
• Attend and lead installations at various clients during night hours as required.
• Operate power tools safely and ensure the team does the same.
• Enforce safety protocols to minimize risks on installations.
• Train and mentor team members to develop installation skills.
• Maintain attention to detail to ensure task quality.
• Meet or exceed team speed and quality KPIs.
• Communicate progress and issues with supervisors, clients, and team.
• Adhere to company policies at all times.
