Job summary

Focal Systems is seeking a Field Service Team Lead to oversee installations for customers across the UK, with overnight work and minimum 30 hours per week on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will lead a small team of technicians, ensuring installations are completed to plan and quality standards while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include coordinating tasks, installing camera hardware, conducting pre-install checks, and acting as the primary on-site contact.

Qualifications

• Proven Field Service Technician experience with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong technical aptitude to diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues.
• Proficiency using power tools and installation equipment.
• Excellent communication to liaise with customers and team members.
• Ability to manage time, meet tight deadlines, and coordinate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of Field Service Technicians on site, allocating tasks to ensure installations run to plan.
• Install camera hardware, mount, connect, and configure per company standards; supervise teammates.
• Conduct pre-installation site checks and briefings to identify issues before installation.
• Serve as the primary customer contact on site; escalate and resolve issues to meet SLAs.
• Review installations and sign off to ensure quality before handover.
• Maintain records of installation activities, parts used, and time spent using company tools.
• Lead night installations as required and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Operate power tools safely and ensure team compliance with safety guidelines.
• Train and mentor new and existing team members to develop installation skills.
• Monitor team performance to meet KPIs for speed and quality.
• Communicate progress and issues to supervisors, clients, and team members.
