Job summary

A regional healthcare organisation is seeking an experienced Capital Project Manager to lead capital projects from inception to completion. The role entails overseeing compliance with health and safety standards, managing contractor performance, and developing essential project documentation. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Construction Management or a related field, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills. This permanent position offers flexible working options in South West England.

Qualifications

  • Degree and post-graduate qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management qualification and experience in NHS capital works (preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge of HTM, HBN, and statutory building regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead smaller capital projects and support major schemes within the Strategic Estates team.
  • Supervise construction stages and fulfil NEC3 Works Supervisor duties.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement, health and safety, and building regulations.
  • Manage contractor performance and site supervision.
  • Develop project documentation including feasibility studies, specifications, and business cases.
  • Provide regular milestone reporting and post‑project evaluation.
