Job description

Have you just submitted your RTPI APC or are a recently chartered Town Planner?

You might now be ready for a new challenge or simply ready to advance your career in fresh environment.

As a Town Planning Consultant (or Senior Town Planning Consultant), you could accelerate your development with greater exposure to the hottest sectors of the real estate market.

Driven by a collaborative, forward-thinking and social team, this well-established boutique consultancy is currently managing a healthy and diversified pipeline of major projects across London and the South. They predominantly focus on the residential and commercial sector, advising a highly diversified pool of clients, from high-net worth individuals to blue‑chip developers.

In this flexible role, you could quickly progress towards a senior position with greater autonomy versus the larger corporates.

Our client is keen to promote and reward those that demonstrate a commitment to excellence and collective professional growth.

A warm desk in London is available for the right person, with a welcoming team passionate and driven in achieving shared success.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing major projects and overseeing smaller development management processes, and assisting senior colleagues on more major developments.
  • Cultivating and maintaining client relationships by offering precise advice and effective communication on a regular basis.
  • Managing pre‑application tasks and guiding planning applications through the development cycle.
  • Writing representations to local authorities for potential site promotions.
Ideally, you should possess:
  • Minimum 2 years of professional planning experience within consultancy, developer or local planning authority (LPA).
  • A strong skill set and expertise in development management.
  • Ideally working towards your RTPI APC, recently submitted or MRTPI.
  • Excellent written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

In return for your dedication, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, ongoing training, and the opportunity to be part of an exceptional team and company that fosters career progression. Here, the focus is on the quality of your work output rather than strict working hours.

Please apply here or give me Tom a call to discuss. My client is looking to find the right candidate as soon as possible - so if in doubt, do get in touch. I also have other clients and roles that may be of interest.

If you do not hear anything back within one week, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion, but I will retain your details for future roles.
