Job description
Job Overview

Due to a retirement we are seeking a Band 6 Paediatric Specialist Allergy Dietitian. This part‑time role (22.5 hours weekly) can be spread over 3 or 4 days. The post holder will be based in the Paediatric Dietetic team at Royal Blackburn Hospital and cover the localities of East Lancashire.

Responsibilities
  • Support the paediatric allergy caseload, including cow’s milk protein, specific and non‑specific allergy and Coeliac disease patients in outpatient clinics, group education and MDT clinics.
  • Cover general paediatric clinics across East Lancashire localities.
  • Clinically supervise Band 5 rotational dietitians and dietetic assistants.
  • Assist Paediatric team leaders in developing the Paediatric Dietetic team/service and in producing guidance, training and policies.
  • Deliver clinical teaching and assessment of dietetic students and support medical, nursing and other health‑profession students.
Qualifications
  • Registered Dietitian with transferable dietetic skills.
  • Experience or training in paediatric allergy or general paediatric dietetics is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous student training experience or the ability to support placement students is desirable.
  • Proficiency in EMIS electronic record system for outpatients and Cerner for in‑patient records (or ability to learn).
