HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer at our UK location. This role will allow for relocation assistance to be provided to the selected candidate who does not reside within the state. You also must have an active TS/SCI clearance for this role.

The Network Engineer will serve as the lead expert within the organization on network enhancements from both an infrastructure and hardware standpoint. This individual will work closely with the customer to provide experience‑based technical expertise and recommendations.

This group helps provide technical expertise in support of 24/7/365 watch‑standing duties. Your team members may troubleshoot system outages; correlate with various agencies to maximize circuit readiness and minimize downtime.

What You Will Do

• Designs and plans network systems
• Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
• Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
• Conducts testing of network systems
• Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
• Maintain information technology (IT) networks and services used by the organization
• Keep organization up to date with new technology; provide feedback to the organization on potential improvements Site Subject Matter expert on site specific telecommunication equipment (to be learned).
• Translate business needs to develop solutions from design to technological products
• Determine technical needs such as hardware, software, scalability and security requirements

What We Are Looking For

• 5 years of relevant experience with bachelor's in related field; 3 years relevant experience with master's in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience
• Experience with configuration and troubleshoot of network switches, routers, firewalls, hubs, fiber and copper cabling and equipment racks
• Capability to design complex network solutions in uncommon environment settings while meeting all DoD policy and customer requirements
• Must have understanding of VMware environment to include knowledge of vSphere, Virtual SAN, Horizon View, NSX, vRealize, SRM
• Working knowledge of System and Application protocols and how to traverse the network (ICMP, SSH, SNMP, SMTP, LANs, WANs)
• Must be a US Citizen and have active TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Requirements

• Skilled trainer and willingness to pass on all knowledge preferred
• VMware certification preferred
• Proficiency with CISCO UCS and Hyperflex servers a plus
