Overview

Neighbourhood Response Officer (Housing Officer) — Contract: Temporary Role — Location: South East London/Kent patch — Capacity: Flexible — Pay: £25.74 Umbrella

We're looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Response Officer to take ownership of a local patch and help create neighbourhoods where residents feel safe, supported, and proud to live. This is a hands-on role combining estate management, tenancy enforcement, and community engagement. You'll work closely with residents, internal teams, and external partners to resolve issues early, tackle anti-social behaviour, and support tenancy sustainment, while stepping in confidently when formal action is required.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a geographical patch and delivering neighbourhood plans
  • Carrying out regular estate and fire safety inspections
  • Working directly with residents, including those in breach of tenancy
  • Tackling ASB through partnership working and enforcement where needed
  • Supporting vulnerable residents and assessing tenancy sustainment needs
  • Liaising with police, local authorities, and community organisations
  • Conducting sign-ups, viewings, tenancy assignments, and property checks
  • Attending court, providing witness statements, and supporting enforcement action
  • Assisting with major incidents and tenant decants when required
