Qualifying questions

Q1: Do you have 1-3 years’ customer-facing commercial experience in FMCG, OTC or retail, with proven exposure to account management, data analysis and P&L??
Q2: Have you directly worked with distributors/wholesalers or cash & carry, convenience or discount channels in a sales or account-facing role? This is essential.?
Q3: Are you comfortable owning detailed admin, complex pricing structures and forecasting in a fast-paced, matrix-style environment?

Headline: Step into a high-impact National Account Executive role in wholesale & distributors

The opportunity:
This role sits in the core of a major home and hygiene portfolio, focused on distributor and wholesale partners that get everyday products into cash & carries, wholesalers, convenience stores and discounter-style retailers across the UK. You will join a lean, ambitious commercial team where you are expected to lead, take ownership and deliver results in a fast-paced, complex, matrix organisation, with a clear route into a full National Account Manager role for strong performers. It is a junior-mid commercial position, ideal for a graduate-calibre executive with solid experience who enjoys a hectic, sometimes ambiguous environment and wants visible responsibility early rather than a pure field-sales role.?

What you’ll do:
  • Manage day-to-day relationships across the distributor and wholesale channel, currently split between two main partners and smaller wholesalers, with the model consolidating into a single primary distributor over the coming months.?
  • Co‑own joint business planning with distributors and their key end customers across cash & carry, wholesale, convenience and smaller retail chains.?
  • Track performance against agreed plans and activities, using sales and promotional data to secure revenue, margin, availability and execution targets.?
  • Run structured clearance processes for residual and seasonal stock, comparing bids, assessing profitability through the P&L and supporting sign‑off decisions.?
  • Take ownership of nominations, multi‑layer pricing set‑up, forecasting and supply coordination, managing a high volume of commercial and operational admin.?
  • Work in a hybrid pattern from Slough, combining office days, virtual meetings and regular customer visits, including formal business reviews.?
What you’ll bring:
  • Degree‑calibre background with around 1-3 years’ customer-facing commercial experience in FMCG, OTC or retail, with proven exposure to account management, data analysis and P&L responsibility (supporting or owning).?
  • Essential: hands‑on experience working with or for distributors/wholesalers or within cash & carry, convenience or discount channels.?
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail; confident managing complex pricing, forecasting and process‑heavy tasks without constant supervision.?
  • Solid numerical and analytical ability, able to interpret sales and promotional data and translate it into clear commercial actions and recommendations.?
  • A confident communicator who builds relationships and can operate with multiple stakeholders in a fast‑paced, complex, matrix‑style business.?
  • Someone who thrives in a hectic and sometimes ambiguous environment, takes ownership, shows initiative and is motivated by delivering tangible results.?
