Job summary

A leading industrial service provider in the UK seeks a Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician with an electrical bias. In this role, you'll conduct planned and reactive maintenance across various systems and ensure compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 2 qualification and previous experience in a facilities role. You will work 37.5 hours per week on a fixed-term contract with a pay rate of £25.00 umbrella.

Qualifications

  • Experience in conducting electrical maintenance, testing, and minor repairs.
  • Ability to perform plumbing and fabric repairs.
  • Willingness to participate in the on-call rota and collaborate with the team.

THE ROLE

Main duties & responsibilities :

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
  • Perform electrical maintenance, testing, and minor repairs (lighting, sockets, RCD checks).
  • Complete PPM tasks like water temperature checks, fire alarm tests, and outlet flushing.
  • Handle basic plumbing and fabric repairs (taps, drainage, fixtures, fittings).
  • Support compliance activities such as fire door inspections and Legionella control.
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure safety and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate records and stock levels using digital maintenance systems.
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance and keep plant rooms clean and organised.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and collaborate effectively with the maintenance team.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance or facilities role.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in electrical or relevant trade.
  • Good understanding of electrical and basic mechanical systems.
  • Computer literate with strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team, managing tasks under pressure.
  • Physically fit, with a full UK driving licence and willingness to complete a DBS check.
