Job summary

A global supplier of precision engineering solutions is looking for an Electrical Engineer to maintain, repair, and improve machinery at their manufacturing site. You will carry out planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and ensure compliance with safety standards. The position requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work under pressure. About the role

Your main responsibility will be, but not limited to, maintaining, repairing, and improving machinery across our manufacturing site. This is a hands on role where you'll work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and ensure our equipment operates at peak performance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on equipment and machinery
• Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to reduce production downtime
• Diagnose electrical faults and implement safe, long lasting solutions
• Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company procedures
• Work collaboratively with other engineers, production staff, and external contractors
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
• Experience in Machine Tool environment
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of PLCs, motors, drives, and control systems
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to safety and quality
• Experience with CMMS
• 18th Edition Regs
• FLT / MEWP trained (advantageous)
• Understanding of 5S and TPM practices (advantageous)

• Salary Range: Up to £45,376.20 dependant on qualifications and experience
• Additional shift premiums
• 37.5 hour week (paid breaks)

• 25 days holiday plus bank holiday (increases to 28 with length of service)
