Job description

Dean Close Foundation is looking to appoint a skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician to join our Estates Maintenance Team, reporting daily to the DCF Operations Manager. This role involves carrying out a wide range of routine and preventative maintenance tasks across academic, residential, and commercial properties, ensuring a safe, high-quality environment aligned with the ethos of the Dean Close Foundation.

The ideal candidate will have strong trade knowledge, excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You will be responsible for completing maintenance tasks and minor projects to a high standard, maintaining tools and equipment, obtaining materials, liaising professionally with staff, and upholding all Health & Safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake general and preventative maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, plaster repair, tiling, gutter work, and minor roofing.
  • Lead or support in-house projects and assess jobs to ensure timely completion.
  • Carry out routine visits across all Foundation sites.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and consumables.
  • Ensure work complies with Health & Safety legislation and internal policies.
  • Communicate effectively with academic and residential staff regarding access and work schedules.
  • Participate in appraisals, training, and ongoing professional development.
