A leading facility management company is seeking a Building Service Engineer to join their team in High Peak. The role involves ensuring high standards of building maintenance while complying with Health & Safety regulations. Candidates should possess HVAC and mechanical or electrical skills, with a proven background in similar environments. This position offers a permanent contract with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Job purpose
We are looking for an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with a HVAC and mechanical or electrical bias, to provide and maintain a high level of building maintenance support to our client. You will be part of a team of multi-skilled technical support staff that ensure that the service provided meets the contractual requirements and complies with all relevant regulations and laws, as well as supporting other service streams on the contract when necessary, to maintain service delivery and quality of service as per our contract with a pro-active approach, to carry out any duties that are within your capabilities, and to assist with any other reasonable requirements as directed by your line manager. You will assist in supervising contractors and sub-contractors and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations. You should be capable of having a flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive), with a pro-active and positive approach to work. You will be expected to effectively prioritise your own workload whilst assisting other engineers/staff with their duties as required, being aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in. You should have strong knowledge and be able to undertake all facets of maintenance, reactive and chargeable works / installation requirements as required, in line with the scope of the contract. The Building services engineers will be responsible within the site team to ensure that all the electrical and mechanical aspects of the site perform safely, effectively and efficiently. All assets should be maintained in accordance with the O&M Manuals, alongside compliance with all Health & Safety Legislation and Company Policy (fire regulations, COSHH, safe working practises, PPE etc). You will also be expected to ensure all building fabric elements are functional and operational within design parameters, carrying out reactive repairs within agreed response and rectification times. You shall ensure all reactive calls are closed out in line with contractual time scales or extended under the contract agreement. Ensuring all compliance documentation, files and auditing tools are maintained. You will also be expected to anticipate, diagnose and repair faults, recording accurately on work sheets and computer-based system, and complete any ADHOC duties assigned. You will be responsible for ensuring equipment and plant/rooms/services are kept clean, safe, and secure. The ideal candidate will have time served apprenticeships with the relevant qualification. You should be committed to the delivery of excellent customer service. You should have a good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and building Statutory Compliance and be able to apply this to the role. It is essential you can carry tools and equipment by hand of up to 20kg, be able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment, work at heights, are available to join a call out rota, and hold a full UK driving license.
