A leading manufacturing organisation in Charing is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer responsible for managing reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance across production lines and site facilities. The ideal candidate will have an engineering apprenticeship with over 5 years of experience in a multi-skilled role, strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, and skills in fault-finding in relevant systems. Experience in food manufacturing and regulatory compliance checks is highly sought after.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Engineer to manage reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance across production lines, refrigeration systems, and site facilities, ensuring safe and efficient operation. You may work independently on shift, collaborating closely with the Production Shift Supervisor.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance on plant equipment.
• Ensure compliance checks for cooling towers and wastewater facilities.
• Optimize production line performance and maximise equipment up time.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with production teams and provide updates on performance.

What We're Looking For

• UK‑approved engineering apprenticeship and 5+ years' experience in a multi‑skilled role.
• Electrical/mechanical expertise (60:40 split) and BS 7671 (17th/18th Edition) certification.
• Strong fault‑finding skills across PLCs, SCADA, pneumatics, and conveyor systems.
• Computer literacy and current MEWP/IPAF licenses.
• Experience in food manufacturing (packing/weighing/sealers) highly desirable.
