Job summary

NEOS Engineering is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead service operations across two depots. You will manage day‑to‑day activities, coordinate workshop and field service teams, and ensure work is completed safely and to high standards.

The role requires strong leadership, technical background in heavy plant or machinery, and the ability to travel between depots. A full UK driving licence and commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a service team, workshop or multi-site operation.
• Solid technical understanding of heavy plant or machinery with credibility to support engineers.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to deal with customers at all levels.
• Strong focus on health and safety and delivering a quality service.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between depots.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day service operations across both depots, splitting time between sites.
• Lead, support and develop a team of fitters and service engineers, both workshop and mobile.
• Plan and allocate workload to make best use of labour and keep jobs moving.
• Act as main point of contact for customers on service issues, breakdowns and expectations.
• Monitor performance, productivity, costs and service KPIs, and report on progress.
• Work closely with parts and aftermarket teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensure all work meets health and safety requirements, compliance standards and quality expectations.
• Support recruitment, training and development within the service team.
