DELIVERY DRIVER

TUESDAY- SATURDAY - MEDICAL VAN DRIVER

BASED :

Polar Speed Distribution Limited, Site 2 Depot, 7 Chartmoor Road, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 4WG

SALARY : £26,200.57 P / A (40 hours) – £31,449.60 P / A (48 hours) at £12.60 per hour.

Average of 48 hours per week, start times 07:00 Hrs, Tuesday - Saturday.

London allowances : £13 per day if 66% of the route covers within the M25, plus £13 per day if 66% of the route covers the London congestion zone.

The company specialises in active temperature-controlled deliveries to hospitals, pharmacies, wholesalers and medical care surgeries as well as to end patients which it serves through its homecare business. Its customers include some of the best known pharmaceutical brands in the world.

As a delivery and collection driver, you’ll make between 25 and 40 collections and deliveries to GP surgeries, retail pharmacies, home delivery patients, wholesalers and hospitals.

For applicants new to multi drop we can provide full training, however we do require a minimum of 2 years driving experience. For experienced delivery and collection drivers in our team we on occasion offer progression to upskill to C Licence categories when required.

As a delivery driver multi drop you’ll work a minimum of 40 hours per week and must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours as and when required to meet our service requirements which may be of an urgent medical nature (average 48 - 50 hours). For this role, you may expect to work on a Monday to Friday basis with bank holiday and Saturday overtime working as required, this is optional and paid and time and a one half rate of £18.90 per hour.

Key Responsibilities :

• Complete daily safety checks of vehicle and refrigeration unit
• Check and scan all consignments
• Deliver consignments on an accurate and timely basis ensuring products stay within the required temperature range
• Ensure that records of deliveries are electronically captured and driver manifests are completed
• Maintain daily communications to provide service updates
• Demonstrate professional and safe driving competency at all times
• Present a smart working appearance at all times

Key Skills / Experience / Requirements :

• A minimum of 2 years driving experience
• Must hold a B category driving licence (ideally no more than 3 points)
• Previous multi-drop experience advantageous
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to build effective working relationships with customers / clients, whilst appreciating the need for maintaining confidentiality
• Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise
