Job description
Job Overview

Derbyshire Dales District Council are recruiting two new Move More Coordinators to join our team and deliver our new Move More Derbyshire Dales Strategy which is currently in co-production. The two roles are part‑time and will deliver a variety of physical activities across the Derbyshire Dales, including weekend and evening delivery when required.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver sports and activity programmes to all ages and abilities.
  • Target specific groups such as inactive individuals, people with long‑term conditions or disabilities, women and girls, youth diversionary participants, event and festival attendees, and sports‑specific programmes (e.g., Tennis & Pickleball).
  • Lead sessions independently, maintaining a proactive leadership style and ensuring a positive experience for participants.
  • Work collaboratively with partners and contribute to community engagement.
  • Operate primarily out in the community, although the position is based in the Sports Development section of the Community Development department.
Qualifications
  • Level 2 National Governing Body coaching certificate.
  • Knowledge and experience in creating and delivering engaging activity sessions.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and partnership working skills.
  • Self‑motivated, dedicated and passionate about sport and physical activity, with the ability to engage people across all ages.
  • Empathy and understanding of the challenges and barriers to participation.
Salary and Contract

£25,989 to £27,254 per annum (Grade 5: SCP 6 – 9), pro rata. Contract 1 starts immediately to 31 March 2027 (temporary, subject to funding). Contract 2 starts 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 (temporary, subject to funding).
