Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Consultancy in Poole is seeking a Motor Trade Service Advisor to join a busy aftersales team. You will take service and repair bookings, greet customers, and liaise with technicians to keep jobs moving.

The role offers a salary of £27,500-£29,000 with uncapped commission, a departmental bonus, 30 days' leave, manufacturer training, pension, EAP, and staff discounts. Full-time, Monday–Friday 08:00-18:00, with Saturday mornings on a rotational basis.

Qualifications

• Experience in motor trade or automotive aftersales preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable discussing servicing, maintenance and additional work.

Responsibilities

• Take service and repair bookings by phone, online and in person.
• Welcome customers with a professional, friendly approach.
• Prepare job cards and record customer and vehicle information accurately.
• Liaise with technicians to keep jobs progressing smoothly and update customers.
• Explain recommended additional work clearly and professionally.
• Prepare invoices and ensure vehicles are ready for collection.
• Handle warranty and manufacturer paperwork accurately.
• Build strong, long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take service and repair bookings by phone, online and in person
• Welcome customers and provide a professional, friendly service
• Prepare job cards and accurately record customer and vehicle information
• Liaise with technicians and the workshop to keep jobs progressing smoothly
• Keep customers updated throughout the day
• Explain recommended additional work clearly and professionally
• Discuss servicing, maintenance and aftersales products where appropriate
• Prepare invoices and ensure vehicles are ready for collection
• Process warranty and manufacturer paperwork accurately
• Build strong, long-term customer relationships
• Support the wider team to keep the department running efficiently

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00-18:00 with an hour's unpaid break, plus Saturday mornings 08:30-12:30 on a rotational basis.

What we're looking for:

• We're looking for an experienced Motor Trade Service Advisor with a good understanding of automotive aftersales and a genuine focus on customer service.
• Previous experience within the motor trade is essential
• Experience as a Service Advisor, Aftersales Advisor or similar dealership role is desirable
• Good understanding of vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs
• Confident communicating with customers face-to-face and over the phone
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple jobs while remaining calm and professional
• Commercially aware and comfortable identifying appropriate sales opportunities
• A positive team player who is happy to get involved
• Full, valid driving licence required
• Comfortable driving both manual and automatic vehicles
