Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester at Family-Run Car Dealership in Farningham, Kent

• Salary : Up to £35,000 Basic (dependent on experience and qualifications) with £40,000 OTE + overtime
• Working Hours : 8 : 00am – 5 : 30pm, Monday to Friday, with Saturday mornings on a rota

Key Responsibilities as an MOT Technician

• Perform routine maintenance and vehicle repairs to the highest standards
• Conduct MOT tests in compliance with DVSA regulations, ensuring all vehicles meet legal and safety standards
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with advanced diagnostic tools
• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify safety or maintenance concerns
• Complete service, repair, and MOT tasks efficiently within designated timeframes

Ideal MOT Technician Profile

• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role in a busy workshop
• Qualified to Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in Light Vehicle Mechanics (Level 2 considered with relevant experience)
• Valid MOT Tester license (or willingness to undertake training to obtain one)
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and technical knowledge
• Valid UK driver’s license
