Job summary

The RAC's Mobile Vehicle Technician role in the SMR division is a structured mobile repair position designed for planned work. You will perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs across local areas with full support and equipment provided.

There are no emergency calls, with pre-booked appointments and a clear schedule. You’ll work a 40-hour week with overtime and progression opportunities, supported by the RAC van and benefits.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
