Job summary

The RAC is launching a new SMR mobile division, offering a fully planned workload with a RAC van, tools, and support to diagnose, service and repair vehicles at members’ homes or workplaces. This role emphasizes independence, accuracy, and safety, with a focus on delivering high‑quality roadside solutions without emergency responds.

You’ll work a 40‑hour week, with some Saturday hours, and opportunities to boost earnings through bonuses and overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in‑depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks to RAC standards.
