Job summary

RAC in the SMR Division is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician to perform planned maintenance, diagnostics and repairs using mobile equipment. You will work from a pre-booked schedule with no emergency callouts, servicing members at their homes or workplace car parks.

Expect a competitive base salary (£40,178) with on-target earnings up to (£52,000), a guaranteed overtime option increasing base salary to £44,385, and additional overtime/bonus opportunities. Core hours 8:30–17:00, 1 in 4 Saturdays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with a full UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
