Job summary

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division. The role offers a competitive base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime and potential bonus opportunities. You’ll work a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays.

Expect a structured, pre-booked schedule with no emergency callouts. You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, in-depth repairs, and provide member advice while upholding RAC standards and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
