Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform pre-booked servicing and diagnostics on local vehicles, with a planned schedule and no on‑road breakdowns. A base salary of £40,170 applies, with OTE up to £52,000 and overtime opportunities.

Work is 40 hours per week, with core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays. Applicants should have a full UK licence and relevant qualifications or extensive hands‑on experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
