Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division and seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician to deliver planned servicing and diagnostics directly to members’ vehicles, from driveways to workplace car parks.

You’ll work a fixed 40-hour week with core hours 8:30am–5:00pm and a 1 in 4 Saturday rota. A base salary of £40,178 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000 and overtime options welcome skilled technicians who value stability and progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
