Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs on customer vehicles at driveways and car parks, not in emergencies.

The role offers a base salary of £40,170 with earnings up to £52,000, overtime options, 40-hour weeks, and occasional Saturdays. You’ll join a structured, supportive team delivering high‑quality service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Planned work with time, tools and support provided.
