Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR Division in the Reading cluster. You’ll work on pre-booked, non-emergency jobs across Reading and nearby towns with a fully equipped RAC van.

This full-time role offers a base of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, 40 hours a week, overtime options, and Saturdays on a 1 in 4 cycle. You’ll perform servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs with the support of our mobile service platform.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
