Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role covering the Newbury cluster, including Andover. You’ll work on pre-booked appointments, performing routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs at customers' driveways or workplaces, using mobile equipment and RAC tools.

This is a structured, non-emergency role with a 40-hour week and some Saturdays. You’ll receive a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, and a clear digital schedule to help you deliver quality work.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Alternatively, 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• No CV required when you apply; it takes just 5 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of member vehicles.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
