Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division. You will work on pre-booked appointments across Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas, performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs.

This role emphasizes planned work, independence, and high-quality on-site service. You will operate with a fully equipped RAC van, schedule-based workflow, and opportunities for overtime and bonuses within a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs normally done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Complete vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
