Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division, offering a structured mobile technician role delivering planned servicing and repairs directly at member locations. You’ll operate a fully equipped RAC van, follow pre-booked appointments, and work in a defined local area with clear schedules or digital itineraries.

You’ll diagnose, service, and repair vehicles on-site, providing expert advice and ensuring safety checks align with RAC standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and inspections.
• Perform diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Execute in-depth repairs normally done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks to RAC standards.
