Job summary

The RAC’s SMR division offers a planned, scheduled mobile repair role designed for consistency and quality, rather than emergency callouts. You’ll work a structured route with a fully equipped RAC van, tools, and support to complete planned maintenance and repairs at members’ homes or workplaces.

As a Mobile Vehicle Technician, you’ll service and diagnose vehicles with access to advanced diagnostics, maintaining RAC standards and delivering reliable, on‑time servicing across Taunton, Wellington,

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
