Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. This role delivers planned, on-site servicing and repairs directly to members’ vehicles, with no emergency callouts and a pre-booked schedule.

You’ll operate in the Central Birmingham cluster, covering local areas with a fully equipped RAC van, digital scheduling, and ongoing support. 40-hour week, Mon–Sat, with opportunities to grow in a structured, mobile environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Skills

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Mainten*

5+ years as Vehicle Technician/Mechana

Full UK driving licence
