Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. You will perform planned servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, away from emergency callouts, following a pre-booked schedule.

Work is 40 hours weekly with 8:30am–5:00pm core hours and 1 in 4 Saturdays; you’ll receive a competitive base and potential OTE up to £52,000 with overtime and bonuses. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
