Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. You will work on a scheduled list of pre-booked jobs, carrying out routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs on members’ vehicles, with all tools and a fully equipped RAC van provided from day one.

Expect a 40-hour week, core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with 1 in 4 Saturdays. A generous benefits package includes pension, life assurance, holiday allowance, and employee share schemes.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
