Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform pre-booked servicing and diagnostics on-site for members, with a focus on planned work rather than emergencies. The role operates from a RAC van with full tools and diagnostics capabilities.

Expect a 40-hour week with 8:30–17:00 core hours and one in four Saturdays. The position offers a base salary plus overtime and bonus opportunities, plus extensive employee benefits and pension support.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with relevant hands-on skills.
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on pre-booked appointments.
• Perform in-depth repairs with mobile tools and equipment.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection results.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks and adhere to RAC standards.
