Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division in the Harlow area. The role focuses on planned, pre-booked jobs delivered to members at driveways and workplaces, with no emergency callouts. You’ll operate from a fully equipped RAC van with set schedules and regional coverage.

Expect 40 hours per week, with core hours 8:30–17:00 and 1 in 4 Saturdays. Qualifications include NVQ2 or 5+ years as a tech, and a full UK licence with under 6 points.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
