Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You'll service pre-booked appointments across your local area, using advanced diagnostics and on-site repairs to diagnose and fix vehicles with minimal disruption.

Working in a structured, non-emergency environment, you’ll receive a fully equipped RAC van, a fuel card and uniform from day one, with overtime and progression opportunities as you help members stay mobile.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
