Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, delivering planned, on-site servicing and diagnostics across a set regional schedule. You will work on a pre-booked list of appointments, not emergency calls, using mobile equipment and a fully equipped RAC van.

The role focuses on diagnostics, routine servicing, and in-depth repairs with support for parts ordering, while maintaining RAC standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 2+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic can be part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and inspections.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs you’d normally do in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
