Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Liverpool cluster. You’ll service pre-booked appointments on customers’ driveways and car parks, using a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics.

The base salary is £40,170, with on-target earnings up to £52,000. A 40‑hour week (Mon–Sat, 8am–8pm) with overtime options sits alongside pension, life assurance, and a share scheme.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience in light vehicle maintenance.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is preferred.
• Full UK driving licence with minimal points is required.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of customer vehicles.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs on-site to RAC standards.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Perform vehicle safety checks according to RAC protocols.
