Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Liverpool cluster. This is a scheduled, on‑drive role with pre‑booked jobs, diagnostics and quality repairs rather than emergency calls. You’ll work a 40‑hour week with core hours 8:30–17:00 and occasional Saturdays, supported by a fully equipped RAC van.

Base salary is £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000; overtime options are available. Requires NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent), 2+ years’ experience and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) required.
• 2+ years of experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic required.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points required.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Vehicle safety checks and member advice based on inspection.
