Job summary

RAC is recruiting for a Mobile Vehicle Technician in SMR. You’ll perform planned servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs on customers' vehicles at driveways and car parks, with RAC van, tools, and diagnostics at hand.

You’ll provide clear explanations to members, follow RAC standards, and enjoy independence in a supported national organisation. Competitive base with overtime, plus benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on customer vehicles.
• Perform in-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work on a mobile basis in driveways and car parks with a fully equipped RAC van.
