Job summary

RAC is recruiting Mobile Mechanics to join the SMR division, delivering planned maintenance and repairs at members' driveways and workplaces. You will perform servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs in a structured, pre-booked workflow, using RAC-supplied vans and tools.

You’ll operate on a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30am–5:00pm and one in four Saturdays, enjoying overtime opportunities, bonuses, and a support system designed for career progression and member

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• or
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
