Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division to deliver planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members—from driveways to workplace car parks.

You’ll work a 40‑hour week with core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays, with no emergency callouts. You’ll pre-booked jobs, perform servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs.

Qualifications

• Mandatory NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent, with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs normally done in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Education
