Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division with mobile, pre-booked servicing and diagnostics. You will work from a fully equipped RAC van, using advanced diagnostic tools to complete scheduled maintenance and repairs at members' driveways or workplaces. Expect clear digital schedules and structured workflows without emergency callouts.

You’ll perform routine servicing, in-depth repairs, and safety checks, while guiding members with clear recommendations and ensuring high-quality workmanship from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• Conduct in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection
• Perform vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
