Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Cheltenham cluster. You will operate on a pre-booked schedule, perform routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs at members’ driveways or car parks.

Working a 40-hour week with 8:30am–5:00pm core hours and one in four Saturdays, you’ll use your skills to keep members moving and will benefit from a fully equipped RAC van, uniform, tools, diagnostics and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
