Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for our SMR division in the Cheltenham area. You’ll work on a scheduled list of pre-booked jobs, carrying out routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs on light vehicles at members’ homes or workplaces.

This role uses a fully equipped RAC van with a 40‑hour week and 1 in 4 Saturdays. Overtime options, bonuses and other benefits help you grow earnings; you’ll also gain training in EV and advanced diagnostics as the

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
