Job summary

RAC is rolling out a dedicated SMR Mobile Technician role in the Cheltenham area, delivering planned maintenance and diagnostics direct to members’ driveways and workplaces. The role focuses on quality, organised, pre‑booked work with a fully equipped RAC van and support tools to keep customers moving.

You’ll handle routine servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs, guided by RAC standards, while providing clear member advice and maintaining safety checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing on customer vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in‑depth repairs you’d normally do in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
