Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will work on a pre-booked schedule, performing servicing, diagnostics and repairs with advanced mobile equipment, delivering high-quality workmanship for members at driveways and car parks.

You’ll join a growing SMR team, with no emergency callouts, structured workflow and clear support. A full UK driving licence is required and overtime opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Carry out in-depth repairs you would normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection results.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work through a clearly planned schedule of pre-booked jobs.
