Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role. Work is scheduled, pre-booked across Stevenage cluster areas, delivering planned servicing and diagnostics on customer vehicles.

You’ll enjoy autonomy, independence, and a clear workflow with all tools and a RAC van provided. From day one you’ll operate in a supportive, structured environment focusing on quality repairs and customer care, with overtime and bonus opportunities and a path toward EV and diagnostic skills

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks per RAC standards.
